The Next Steps
"The Promised Land
Development Project"
In 2023 Maranatha Christian Outreach Ministries acquired a piece onf land in Kailahun. We saw this as the next step in growing and developing the ministry in West Africa.

The Mission
The overarching aim of this project is to make Maranatha Christian Outreach Ministries self-sustainable, so that disciples will continue to be made for many years to come (without reliance on international donors)
The Vision
Over 20 years ago when Lorraine first visited Africa the Lord gave her a vision. She saw the development of a piece of land to further the glory of God. The land was developed with farming, livestock, and workshops.
During a visit to Sierra Leone in 2023, Lorraine was really moved by Holy Spirit and was reminded of the vision, and really felt that this is a vision for now.
We see the next step for the ministry to be the fulfilment of this vision. We have launched a 5-year project called "The Promised Land Development Project."
Following the recent acquisition of a piece of land in Kailahun, the plan is to develop the land, build a Christian Training Centre and develop a Missionary Training Program. This will create a hub for discipleship training in the area where we operate, as well as utilising the land to create and launch a number of micro-enterprises such as farming, soap making, bee-keeping and purified water sales. The overarching aim of this project is to make Maranatha Christian Outreach Ministries self-sustainable, so that disciples will continue to be made for many years to come, without reliance on international donors.

July 2025
We now have a 'Caretakers House' and a 'Chicken House' on 'The Promised Land'. The structure for housing the chickens is 90% complete. We continue to pray that God will provide the funds needed to complete this building and buy the first 200 chickens very soon. The building will hold 500 chickens though we are starting with 200 while our team learn how to care for them and are trained well. Once they are competent in caring for the chickens and this first 200 have been sold, that will generate funds to buy more.
